Our Business

Coast Technology I, LLC (referred to herein as “Coast Tech,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the Personal Information we collect, use, share, and otherwise process as part of our business. We also believe in transparency in how we treat the Personal Information we collect and process.

Coast Tech has multiple business services. One is a suite of data products that help our clients collect and organize their current and potential customers’ information. The second is website design and other data-driven marketing services for our clients. Clients use Coast Tech’s marketing data products to better market to their existing and prospective customers. Our website https://coasttechnology.com (the “Site”) delivers information to users about Coast Tech’s services. How your information is collected and used as part of Coast Tech’s services determines how your data is stored, processed, and used.

Applicability of this Policy

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs our privacy practices when:

  • You access or use the features on our Site.
  • You communicate with us electronically.
  • We receive Personal Information (x) in our role as a service provider for our clients, which may include information provided by our clients and information that we collect on their behalf, including through automated tracking technologies on clients’ respective websites, (y) from third party data providers, and (z) through publicly available resources, such as social media, public sources, directories, and registries (individually and collectively the “Services”).

This Policy does not apply to:

  • Coast Tech’s offline data collection, or any other website or service operated by third parties, unless otherwise specified in this Policy; or
  • Coast Tech’s processing of Personal Information in connection with employment. If you are a past or current employee of Coast Tech and have questions about your Personal Information, please contact Coast Tech’s HR department.

Key Definitions

Aggregated Data” is statistical, aggregated, anonymized, or deidentified information about individuals and Site visitors that cannot identify a particular user.

Personal Information” refers to information about an identifiable individual. Personal Information does not include information that is anonymous or otherwise de-identified and cannot be used to identify a particular individual. Personal Information further does not include any data that is excluded from such definition under applicable state privacy laws.

Processing” – Coast Tech may collect, record, organize, store, adapt, alter, use, disclose by transmission, disseminate, or otherwise make available, combine, block, erase or destroy information. When we take any of those actions, that constitutes “processing.”

Special Personal Information” refers to categories of particularly sensitive Personal Information, such as information your health or sex life, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political party or leanings, sexual orientation, criminal record, or trade union that require higher levels of protection under certain laws. Special Personal Information may be provided to us as part of our collection of Personal Information from third-party sources. We minimize processing Special Personal Information to what is strictly necessary to achieve a lawful purpose and will only process Special Personal Information when we have a clear legal justification for processing as required by applicable laws and our internal policies. We do not share or sell Special Personal Information.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect Personal Information via the following methods:

  • Information You Choose to Provide: On the Site or in interacting with us electronically, you may choose to provide us with Personal Information. We process this Personal Information with your consent (given when you choose to provide the information to us or third parties from whom we received your Personal Information) or for our legitimate business interests, as further described in the below chart.
  • Indirectly From You: We may use certain automated tracking technologies, such as cookies, log files, pixels, tags, and the like, to collect information about the users visitors to our Site, when you interact with an internet advertisement we serve, or when you visit a website that has implemented our automated technologies, such our clients’ websites.   • From Our Clients: We may collect information from our clients who may use our Services to onboard their data into our platforms and use our cookies and pixels to collect data from persons visiting the client’s websites.
  • Inferred from Other Data: We may create new personal data attributes or derive a probability percentage (propensity) that a data attribute may be linked to you using other Personal Information that we collect through propensity analysis and modeling.  
  • Other Third Parties: We additionally collect information from you from various othercompanies. These third parties may include: advertising/marketing companies, automotive and recreational vehicle manufacturers and retailers, consumer data resellers, data analytics providers, internet service providers, marketing data companies, and public or government entities. Some of these third parties may combine data from a variety of sources.

Our legal basis for processing this information includes with your consent, where necessary to comply with the law, where necessary to protect another person’s vital interests, and for our legitimate business purposes where that the interest is not overridden by your privacy interests and where you have not objected to the use.

Our Use of Personal Information

Collecting and Sharing Data for Marketing and Analytics Purposes

Coast Tech collects Personal Information from the sources identified above and infers Personal Information to create consumer databases and profiles. Coast Tech’s data analytics and inferences help its clients get a full view of their customers and prospective customers to help them predict future automotive and recreational vehicle buying behaviors and to help them build brand loyalty. Coast Tech’s consumer databases enable marketers to connect with new and existing consumers in both digital and offline channels, such as direct mail and online advertisements. Examples of this processing may include:

  • Providing marketing information to current and potential clients about customers and prospective customers of automotive and recreational vehicle sales to provide better service, improved offerings, and promotions.
  • Providing information to our client generally regarding their respective marketing campaigns and customer service and engagement.
  • Analyzing and optimizing our client’s customer and lead databases, including verifying enhancing, updating, or removing, incorrect or outdated information.
  • Creating trend reports and business intelligence to be used by our clients in developing financial projections.

NOTICE: Coast Tech may sell your Personal Information, including Sensitive Personal Information (limited to the following categories - political opinions and political affiliations, and religious affiliations, gender, age, race or ethnicity, national origin, and marital status), as described above. This notice is required pursuant to certain state privacy laws. Coast Tech does not license Personal Information collected from visitors to its website; however, Coast Tech may disclose your Personal Information collected from the sources above or that Coast Tech infers to a third party for the purposes listed herein. Certain states laws allow you to opt-out of such Personal Information Sales. Please see the “State Privacy Rights” section below for additional information.

Interest-Based Advertising

Coast Tech helps its clients provide personalized advertising online in a variety of ways. Some of the advertising you may be served may be based on the content of the webpage you’re visiting, information you provided to us or our service providers, and interests generated from your visits to other websites. This form of providing customized online advertising is known as interest-based advertising, targeted advertising, or cross-contextual behavioral advertising. Some examples of our interest-based advertising activities include helping our clients provide targeted ad to online users based on common demographics or disclosed interests or preferences. When we do this, we use information provided by our clients and match their information through pseudonymization techniques with online cookies and other identifiers. We then use these cookies and identifiers to target and measure ad campaigns online across various display, mobile and other media channels.

If you wish to opt-out of interest-based advertising, you can visit the opt-out portals operated by the industry groups the National Advertising Initiative (NAI) or the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and can learn more about how those opt-outs work on those linked web pages. Note that these online opt-outs are cookie-based, so if you use multiple browsers or devices to access the internet, you will need to opt-out for each browser and device. You will also need to re-do the opt-out function if you clear your cookies in your browser. Opting out will not block online advertising; it generally will only prevent targeted advertising.

Coast Tech further uses Personal Information to maintain and improve our Site and Services, such as:

  • Improving, testing, cleaning, updating, and verifying the data we hold and our Services.

  • Operating, analyzing, improving, and securing our Services.
  • Estimating audience size and use patterns.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Coast Tech may further use Personal Information to:

Marketing Communication Preferences

We use Personal Information to contact you about services that may be of interest to you. Please note that we may still be required to contact you about the Site, such as if you send us any communications.

Coast Tech collects Personal Information about users over time and through certain tracking technologies. Our Cookie Policy describes how you can exercise your rights and controls over our use of tracking tools.

The Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a universal opt-out mechanism that enables individuals to set their consent preferences once in their web browser, which allows their preferences to be respected automatically by all websites they subsequently visit. Where required by applicable state privacy laws, we respect the GPC signal on our Site.

Location in United States: Coast Tech is located in the State of Louisiana, and our Site is intended for users located in the United States[i]. If you are accessing the Site or communicating with us outside of the United States, the laws pertaining to your Personal Information may not provide the same level of protection as the laws of your home country. By providing us with Personal Information about yourself, or by otherwise consenting to the disclosure of your Personal Information to us, you acknowledge the disclosure of such Personal Information to persons in the United States.

Automated Decision Making and Profiling

As part of our processing Personal Information, we may make inferences about you from the data we hold. To the extent we use processes that involve automated decision making or profiling, we take steps to ensure that any automated decision making or profiling practices are fair and not discriminatory. Further, we do not process your Personal Information for profiling that produces a legal or similarly significant impact, such as employment decisions, financial services, housing, or healthcare. As described above, we do receive your general creditworthiness based on a range in which your credit score may fall, but we do not receive nor share you credit score. We use automated processes to derive inferences for interest-based advertising in the automotive and recreational vehicle industry and other marketing purposes, including for our clients to advertise their products in the automotive and recreational vehicle industry.

Retention of Personal Information

Except as when required by law or regulation or as needed in connection with a legal action or investigation, We only keep your Personal Information for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal and business obligations, protecting ours and others’ interests, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. When Personal Information is no longer needed for these purposes, it is removed from our systems or deidentified and archived in line with our retention practices.

The criteria used to determine the retention period include:

  • Type of services being provided.
  • The length of time we provide our services.
  • Whether our processing of Personal Information is consistent or reasonably compatible with an average consumer’s expectations when the Personal Information was collected.
  • The impact on our Services provided to you or our clients if we delete the Personal Information from or about you.
  • Mandatory retention periods prescribed by law.

When we delete Personal Information, it will be removed from our active servers and databases; but it may remain in our archives when it is not practical or possible to delete it.

For certain states, we are required by law to maintain records regarding consumer rights requests for certain periods of time, as set forth by the specific applicable law (e.g., the California law requires us to maintain such records for at least twenty-four (24) months). We maintain such records in accordance with those requirements and only use this information for recordkeeping purposes.  

Third Party Cookies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Site are served by third parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website. Securing Personal Information

We have implemented appropriate administrative, technical, physical, and organizational safeguards to protect your Personal Information against accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. We also limit access to the Personal Information to those employees, agents, contractors, or third parties that have a legitimate business need for such access.

While our security measures are appropriately tailored to protect the Personal Information in our possession, no security system is perfect, and no data transmission is 100% secure.  As such, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from the Site, Communications, through any of the products or services, or via the Services, and your use thereof is at your own risk. Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to add to, change, update, or modify this Policy at any time to reflect any changes to how we treat your information or in response to changes in law.
